Concerto in One Movement - Alexei Lebedev

Written for tuba, this piece works really well for the bass trombone. Has some really nice melodic parts and is quite musical and beautiful.

Variations on Palestrina's "Dona Nobis Pacem" - David Fetter

Unaccompanied theme and variations on a familiar tune. Short and well-written, it can be a refreshing change to hear a piece without the support of a pianist.

Concerto - Eric Ewazen

Written by one of today's most prolific composers for brass instruments, with the solo part alternating between the melody and arpeggios outlining the pleasantly satisfying harmonic motion.

Rhapsody - Frigyes Hidas

Interesting multi-meter rhythms with nice melodic lines over top. Although the sheet music can look intimidating, the music is easy on the ears.

Cameos - Gordon Jacob

One of the staples of the bass trombone repertoire, almost every bass trombonist will play this piece in the first couple of years of being a music major. A multi-movement work, it has some programmatic moments and ends on a high Bb.
