Denis Wick offers you 3 styles of trombone mouthpieces. As you can see, they each have a different shape, and as a result different weights. Mass, and where it is carried on the mouthpiece make a big difference in how that mouthpiece resonates in the instrument. These are our thoughts on what to expect from each option, but we want to know your thoughts too! Let us know what you play and what you love about it in the comment section at the top.

CLASSIC: Silver DW5880-# , Gold DW4880-#
The first mouthpiece ever developed by Denis Wick, this mouthpiece was designed for his section in the London Symphony Orchestra as they were dealing with less than perfect acoustics in the Royal Festival Hall. Since that day, Denis has been creating this series to help trombone players achieve clarity, warmth, and beauty of sound in a way no manufacturer has been able to duplicate.

HERITAGE DW3180-#
The Heritage design uses the same sizing as the Classic series, however the shifted mass of the mouthpiece affects the way it responds in the Cornet. Like the HeavyTop series, added mass near the throat/backbore provide focus to the sound. The upper walls and rim are thinned to compensate for the additional mass. This aids the player in easy articulation in higher registers, and a very colorful tonal response.

HEAVYTOP: Silver DW6880-# , Gold DW7880-#
Denis Wick HeavyTop mouthpieces are designed to reduce the amount of vibration lost through the mouthpiece. Additional mass around the cup, throat and backbore of the mouthpiece transfers energy much more efficiently, resulting in improved projection and stability, creating a strong, rich, and centered sound.
